Professional Characteristics (respond to pees work below) 150 each

Guided Response: After viewing your classmates’ Wordles, write a minimum 150-word response to at least two of them.  Comment on the similarities and differences between your list and theirs.  State whether your classmates have identified key characteristics of their professional career.  Does their rationale merit the inclusion of the characteristics on the list?  Discuss what characteristics you would change on your list based on their list of words.  If possible, respond to at least one classmate with a different major than your own.

The words I used to describe my professional field Teachers Aid is: Patient Respectful Smart Generous Responsible helpful people person respectful talkative flexible. I chose Patient and respectful because I remember when I was special education classes in elementary through high school I had a teacher’s aide that was really patient and respectful to me so I always imagined when I become a teacher’s aide I will be just like her. I thought of the word generous because when I thought of teacher’s aide I thought of a person to help all kids both special needs and normal ed students. A teacher’s aide should be very generous to all the students and always willing to help them. A teacher’s aide should be very responsible and always on time for work because the students look up to them for guidance and leadership. A teacher’s aide is very helpful to everyone both big and small. In order to be a teacher’s aide you would have to be able to stand to be around lots of students. You also have to be flexible when it comes to working since it’s a job a teacher’s aid to always be there to help the students and teachers.

I do apologize but my computer was unable to make the wordle document so I will be naming them off in this post instead. Also so everyone is aware these are all traits that people need to have in order to be a school social worker. The words I had chosen were reliable, kind, respectful, patience, smart, people person, open minded, good listener, and flexible.

The reason why I chose the word reliable is because with this job you are expected to be at work on time each day that you work so that the students get the most amount of help as possible. I chose kind because well you would lose your job if you were rude to either the students or your coworkers especially to your boss as well. The main reason why I chose the word respectful is because if you disrespect a student they will in return be disrespectful to you and automatically you would lose your job. The biggest reason that anyone needs to be patient for is ultimately to get things done right especially with this career field because if you try to rush a student ultimately you both fail in the end. The reason why I chose smart is because no one wants someone who does not know what they are doing to help them because it just defeats the purpose of asking for help in the first place. I chose people person because when you have a job like this you will have many people coming to you for help and advice so the more people friendly you are the more this job will help strengthen your people skills. The reason why you would need to be open minded is because if you come across a problem that you can’t solve in a simple manner you would need to be open minded and think outside the box to think of a possible solution. The reason why being a good listener is a great trait to have in this field is because at times to may come across a student who really needs someone to vent to that has a lot on their mind so you need to be willing to listen and help them problem solve solution which is also having to have an open mind as well. The reason why it is a good thing to be flexible when you are a school social worker is because you could be asked to come in to work during the week even if it is supposed to be your scheduled day off.
