Probelm of evil

State the Problem of Evil.  Do you believe that the existence of an all-good and omnipotent being is compatible with the presence of the evil (or suffering) that exists?  If so, explain how they are compatible.  Then state what you take to be the strongest objection to your explanation and reply to it.  If not, consider one or two of the most plausible attempts to reconcile the existence of such a being with this evil (or suffering) and say why you believe it/they fail.  If appropriate, say how someone might respond to you and why their response fails.
