Directions:
The informative presentations are to be between 4 and 6 minutes long. You are allowed to choose your subject, and encouraged to get creative with your choice. You may choose to follow a “how-to” method of giving an informative presentation, where you teach the class how to do something. Examples are how to study for an exam, or how to change a car tire.
You may also choose to present information that is not widely known. For example you could inform the class about new breakthroughs in cancer research, or how the flood alert system works in Houston. Again, get creative with your choice and pick something that interests you.
Whichever type of presentation you choose; you must present factual information that has been researched. An informative presentation must be fact based and have verifiable sources. Your personal experience, or your analysis is welcome, but should be a small part of the presentation, not the bulk of the presentation. The bulk of the presentation should be researched information.
write out a complete paper that would be the“perfect version” of your presentation and print a copy to be turned in to the instructor. In addition, the paper must include a works cited page with a minimum of five sources.
PowerPoint presentations are welcome but should be used as a visual aid, not a crutch for the entire presentation. PowerPoint presentations that include photos, graphics, or videos are much preferred over PowerPoint presentations that are all or mostly text
