Consider how the organization you chose in Unit I (or another organization you may be familiar with) handles the issue of contractors.  Are contractors addressed in the company’s safety and health program?

If contractors were working in a trench that did not have adequate protective systems at the facility or site, or if an electrical contractor was working on existing electrical installations at the facility, to what extent would the employer in question take responsibility for the safety of these contract employees?  Should they?  Who is responsible here?
