Discussion: Processing Skills Development

Interviewing is an art that you can continue to improve. Even when you feel you have mastered the skills needed, there is always more to learn. As in any field, it is important to keep abreast on new knowledge. The same is true for interviewing, as theories, models, and best practices develop. What was considered a good practice 20 years ago, does not mean it is still a best practice today. For example, the Transtheoretical Model: Stages of Change did not always include the termination phase, but over time, it was added as an import stage in the model.

To Prepare

Consider the skills presented in the course. Consider the feedback that you have received form your Instructor and colleagues.
