In this section, describe, in detail, why this policy is needed for your organization. Policies consist of high-level statements of intent about the things a business either wants to do or plans to avoid doing. Policies focus on the intentions of an organization, not on the functions its staff members carry out.

The “Procedure” section includes detailed descriptions of the tasks that are part of an organization's business. These may be in the form of step-by-step instructions, flow charts or another descriptive form. They should be detailed enough for new staff to follow and standardized enough to prevent waste and errors.

To turn on the Readability Statistics

Click on “File”

Click on “Options”

Click on “Proofing”

Click on “Readability Statistics” if not selected already.

 

 

To check the document’s Readability Statistics

Select the “Review” tab from the ribbon

Click on “Spelling & Grammar”

To interpret the Readability Statistics

Passive Sentences – Percent of passive or unreceptive sentences in the document.

 

Flesch Reading Ease – This test rates text on a 100-point scale. The higher the score, the easier it is to understand the document. For most standard files, you want the score to be between 60 and 70.

 

 

Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level – This test rates text on a U.S. school grade level. For example, a score of 8.0 means that an eighth grader can understand the document. For most documents, aim for a score of approximately 7.0 to 8.0, but for the purposes of this assignment, use the sixth grade level statistic.
