Moving students from one level to next can pose many challenges for teachers for example, students who are in stage one listen, but do not speak any English, the next level is using emerging phrases students are beginning to use more oral language to communicate however, for a teacher the challenge would be incorporating students primary language in the classroom to facilitate communication according to (Piper, 2015) this approach helps maintain the child’s first language.   The second challenge would be determining a appropriate time to challenge a child who is in the silent phase, according to (Piper, 2015) this nonverbal period as no time limit. Students, who are in the beginning stage benefit from, graphs, visual, and gestures as well as providing opportunities for students to practice their first language teachers, can create a welcoming environment that is rich in print. Students can practice speaking English; students can speak in English during social interactions.
