Guided Response Criteria (this what my teacher looking for in my response to my peers):

Suggest at least one scholarly resource your peer can use to teach children about good nutrition (book)

Explain why your peer might consider using this book in the classroom

Address their stance on the debate presented in the Instructor Guidance

1.      How might you convince your peer to change their perspective?

2.      What resources (other than the one you recommended) might you provide?

3.      Why did you select the resource for question #2?

The age group I will focus on is ages between 2-4. The benefits of exercising is to build muscles,  helps with concentration, controls weight and its wonderful for your health period. “Also Helps reduce the risk of developing obesity and chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and colon cancer. Reduces feelings of depression and anxiety and promotes psychological well-being ( www. cdc.gov downloaded September 23, 2015 ).”

Ways I will encourage development of gross motor skills in my class daily will be by playing  freeze tag outdoors or in school gym. This allows the child to run and have fun. I may also play music for children to dance and move their body.  Another activity such as myself being the leader and they imitate each exercise that I do.

DEBATE

Physical development and being active is just as important as academics and therefore should be given equal time in schools because they both work well with one another goes hand and hand. Eat right you feel good. You are what you eat. Exercising builds confidence, concentration and coordination from an early age.    “The CDC states, “…physical activity can have an impact on cognitive skills and attitudes and academic behavior, all of which are important components of improved academic performance. These include enhanced concentration and attention as well as improved classroom behavior ( www.sparke.org  downloaded on September 23, 2015 ).”
