Photoshop Assigment-Must have Photoshop CC6
Easy assigment for photoshop pros.
1. On the File menu, click Save As. Save the image on your USB flash drive as a PSD file, with the file name, Extend 8-1 Anatomy Edited.
2. Look at the organization of the layers on the Layers panel. Click the ‘Indicates layer visibility’ button for the ant photo layer to display it.
3. Start with small items such as the eye. Use the Eyedropper Tool to sample the eye color, zooming as necessary.
4. Activate the Pen Tool. Click the Mode button on the options bar, and select Shape as the drawing mode.
5. Click around the eye to create a path that covers the ant’s eye. Close the path.
6. On the Layers panel, rename the layer, Eye.
7. Create two more paths, one around each antenna. (Hint: As you click narrow images, such as the antenna, your path may fill temporarily at awkward-looking intersecting triangles. Just keep clicking close to the antennae.) Rename each layer.
8. Select the ant photo layer again. Use the Eyedropper Tool to select a lighter gray color from the head of the ant. Activate the Pen Tool again and click to create a closed path around the head.
9. Create additional paths for the legs, middle, and end of the ant. Rename each layer.
10. Hide and show the ant photo layer to view your work. Use the Direct Selection Tool to adjust any lines that are not smooth.
11. Create a different layer style for each part of the ant’s body by selecting the layer and then clicking the ‘Add a layer style’ button on the Layers panel status bar. For information on using layer styles effectively, refer to Photoshop Help as necessary.
12. Create layer groups to organize the layers. Group the leg layers into one group; the head, antenna, and eye layers into another group; and finally the middle and end body parts into another group.
13. To create a label for the diagram, activate the Custom Shape Tool. Click the Shape picker button on the options bar to display its panel, and then click the panel menu button. Select Talk Bubbles and append the shape to the Shape picker panel. Select one of the Talk Bubble shapes. Choose a gray color. Drag in the document window to create a shape above the ant’s head.
14. Activate the Horizontal Type Tool. Choose a sans serif font, such as Impact, with a font size of 36 points and a color of white. Click the shape and type head to create text within the shape.
15. Create additional labels for mesosoma, gaster, compound eyes, antennae, and legs, as shown in Figure 8 – 93.
16. Use the Direct Selection Tool to alter the shape of the talk bubbles as necessary so they point to the correct location on the ant. Hide the ant photo layer, if necessary.
