Open the Lab 7 - 3 Bassist photo from the Chapter 07 folder of the Data Files for Students.

Select the background and create an alpha channel. Hide or delete the background and edit as necessary to display only the bassist.

 Open the file named Lab 7 - 3 Concert. Arrange the documents side by side and then use the Move Tool to drag the bassist image into the Lab 7 - 3 Concert document window.

Adjust and scale the layers as necessary. Refine the bass player’s mask to decontaminate the edge colors. Use the Adjustments panel to adjust the levels and contrast so the bassist matches the concert scene.

Delete portions of the bass player or create a mask so he appears behind the stage speakers and other band members.

Create a Warped text box with the band name, as shown in Figure 7 – 92. Sample the blue in the guitar strap for the color of the text and apply a layer style to emphasize the text.

Save the file as Lab 7 - 3 New Bass Player in the PSD format.
