Phonics and Phonemic Awareness

Create a 15-20 slide PowerPoint presentation to demonstrate to your colleagues the strategies of teaching the 44 Phonemes to a group of first graders.

For this presentation, you could compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of various strategies of teaching phonemic awareness to emergent learners or you could focus more on one particular approach you think is effective.

Cite research based theories as rationale for the utilization of the strategies in your presentation. Use teaching strategies from your assigned readings or other scholarly articles.

Title and reference slides are required. Use graphics and color schemes to make your presentation attractive and visually stimulating. The presentation should be organized with headings, descriptions, bullets, etc.
