Human beings got along for millions of years as hunters and gatherers and it was both a beneficial and a stable adaptation. In contrast, many people suggest that collapse may simply be an inherent part of civilization, because food production inevitably leads to environmental degradation. Do you think that food production (farming and animal husbandry) is an unstable adaptation? Is the idea of sustainable agriculture a myth?
