I need two discussion replies - 150 words each

 

Academics love being contrarian, and McWhorter’s talk is a great example of an expert de-bunking of conventional wisdom.  Here he provokes the audience by saying that texting is “miraculous,” and for young people it represents a positive “expansion of their linguistic repertoire.”  Does his argument make you think about texting differently?
