Performance Identity (Through Plays)

A final and more formal paper will give students an opportunity to write about one of the forms of identity performance we have discussed in class and to analyze ways in which it has succeeded and not succeeded in creatively redressing wrongs or helping resolve conflicts.  You will need to be very specific regarding both performances and texts and are free to use other critical reviews or news reports about performances or reactions to them to support your position or suggest a new viewpoint.  Your conclusion should not be just a summation, but should be your opportunity to suggest where you see this form heading or where you would like to see it head.  4 – 6 pages.
