Pathophysiology Research Paper

Course Description:  Presents the underlying concepts and biological basis for common pathological disorders of all body systems. 

LISTED BELOW ARE SOME PARAMETERS I WOULD LIKE YOU TO FOLLOW:

1. 5-7 PAGES NOT INCLUDING DIAGRAMS, CHARTS, ETC.  THIS EQUALS ABOUT 1500 WORDS.

2. YOU MAY CHOOSE ANY TOPIC YOU LIKE THAT IS PERTINENT TO THE COURSE, EVEN IF WE DID NOT COVER IT. 

3.  YOU SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST THREE SOURCES, WITH AT LEAST ONE BEING FROM AN ACADEMIC JOURNAL SHOWING RELATIVELY RECENT RESEARCH ON THE TOPIC (NOT OLDER THAN FIVE YEARS).  MAGAZINES LIKE SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, POPULAR SCIENCE, WEB MD, AND THE LIKE DO NOT QUALIFY AS ACADEMIC JOURNALS.  ALSO, CDC AND NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH INFO PAGES DO NOT QUALIFY.  THEY ARE GOOD SOURCES OF BACKGROUND INFORMATION, BUT DO NOT SHOW CUTTING EDGE SCIENCE..

4. MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE LAST TWO PAGES OF YOUR SYLLABUS FOR WHAT CONSITUTES PLAGIARISM.  IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. 

Research Papers: A research paper will be required of students.  There will be a great flexibility for students to choose a topic of interest.  Papers should be academic in nature, using appropriate sources (more information on this will be forthcoming).  Please understand that plagiarism will not be tolerated, and will result in severe penalties.
