One of the most important phases of inflammation (especially with infection) is the phase known as Phagocytosis. Phagocytosis has many steps that are required to occur in a particular order to be effective. Describe the steps of phagocytosis beginning with "chemotaxis" and ending with the destruction of the foreign invader. What is distinctive about each step? Also include some of the bacterial defenses that have evolved to fight against phagocytosis.
