For this assignment, choose an ethnic, racial, religious or other minority group to which you don’t belong. Present a brief history of your selected group, clearly state the oppression(s) faced by members of this minority group, and then provide an in-depth analysis of the group using terms and concepts from the course. Specifically discuss types of prejudice that exists in American culture for or against your group. Be sure to use terms, concepts and readings from this class.  Discuss why – according to research, not opinion – this group may have been singled out for oppression by the dominant group and apply sociological theories to the topic.
