WEEK ONE INDIVIDUAL ASSINGMENT

Title: Process Design Matrix and Summary

Description: In this assignment, you will examine some of the differences between service and manufacturing by compare selected Process Design Aspects of a service and a product.

Instructions:

1.    Select Processes. Select both a service and product with which you are familiar.

2.    Compare Process Design Aspects. Using the Process Design Matrix, select 3 to 5 Process Design Aspects that you will use to  compare the Service and Product that you selected (See Process Design Matrix Explained )

3.    Summarizing explain your choices.  Using Microsoft® Word 2003/2007/2010, write an Executive Summary of no more than 700 words in which you:

·         Explain the product and the Service that you selected.

·         Explain your entries in the service and product columns in the Process Design Matrix.  Justify your choices by comparing your entries in the majors with documentation from the textbook.

Reference requirement(s):

Required: The Executive Summary must contain direct quotations and paraphrases from the course textbook.

Optional:  The assignment may contain any acceptable sources as prescribed in Mahoney's Instructor's Policies.

Formatting:

·       Formatting for the Executive Summary must be consistent with APA requirements noted in the APA Sample Paper and any supplemental requirements noted in Mahoney's Instructor's Policies.

·       Name the assignment files consistent with the requirements noted in Mahoney's Instructor's Policies
