The U.S. jobs report came out on Friday and showed that 156,000 jobs were added in the month of September, which was down from August. Although it was down, it still grew and "suggests the jobs expansion still has room to grow" (Mitchell). The unemployment rate increased by a slight amount to now 5%, which might be due to "the number of job seekers grew more quickly than the number of jobs" (Mitchell). Overall, the "report supported the view that the labor market—which had its sixth year of expansion last month—remains stable" (Mitchell). Another point of good news this article discusses is labor participation is still increasing. While looking at this months data and previous, I believe that the employment growth rate going forward is going to be around the same level it was this month and stagnate at this level until the end of year since we are practically at full employment already. Does anyone share my opinions that the growth level will stagnate around 150,000 jobs a month or do you feel it will grow by more or less? Also, does anyone feel that based upon who becomes president there will be a huge impact on the job growth in the next 3 months? Does anyone have an opinion as to whether one nominee or another will cause the most growth?
