As you know, much of this course has been focused on critically thinking about local government challenges through the review of case studies. Now it is your turn. For the purposes of this assignment, you will identify a relevant issue or challenge for a city somewhere in the United States. You will need to submit a brief “Case Study Proposal” to me for review and approval before class on Monday, October 12. A short paragraph outlining your plans and intentions will suffice. The completed work should be at least 8-10 pages. Your paper will need to be uploaded here by Monday, November 16 at 6 PM. 

In the first part of your paper you should frame up your case. This should include a format similar to our text and include title, background, the case, the decision problem, and discussion questions along with any additional headings you would like to include. Be creative with your format in how you structure your case. Just keep in mind that it should be a real world experience.

In the second half of your paper you should provide me with a thorough analysis of the case from your perspective. I will be looking for you to critically analyze the circumstances through the lens of city management principals that we’ve discussed in class, online, and through the readings. You will need to support your assessments with citations from 8-10 sources of which 2-3 should be scholarly sources.
