Please answer the following questions in separate essays of around 1.5 pages each.  They will need to be typed, double spaced, with 12 point font, 1" margin, and stapled.  They also need to be your original work; while you may use the internet for some basic information, your main source should be the Exodus chapter of the Bible, and your class notes.  Remember, if you do use information from a website or the Bible, it will need to be in direct quotes " " and referenced, i.e. ([email protected]);   if it is word for word.  If your idea just comes from that website, then you just need to reference it.  Again, I want to see YOUR work, not Dr. Seymour Farquart's ideas, in your paper!

What did the Exodus mean to the Hebrew nation that ultimately followed Joshua into the Promised Land?

Consider this question carefully.  I'm not looking for a strictly literary answer!  You need to consider this on several levels - literal, spiritual, allegorical, economic...

Along with being a record of their history as perceived by Jewish historians, the Hebrew Bible serves many other purposes.  It contains Wisdom Literature, poetry, and prose.  It also contains endless lessons for people, many of which have spread throughout the world by now.  Pretend that you are a Hebrew teacher 3000 years ago.  What lessons do you see that could be learned from the Exodus?  Pick three of these lessons and explain their significance to your class of students!!  :)
