Online Performance Assessment
The rubric and assessment need to be over intro to algebra
This writing assignment provides you with an opportunity to design learning and performance objectives, design a learning activity, and develop assessment strategies.
Perform the following tasks:
- Step 1: Identify objectives for online group work.
In your discipline, or a discipline of interest, craft two objectives. One of these objectives must be a learning objective and the other must be a performance objective. - Step 2: Design an assignment.
Based on Step 1, create an assignment that assesses both the learning objective and performance objective you created. View the performance objective as something that will be assessed through formative means, while the learning objective will be assessed through summative means. - Step 3: Develop assessment strategies for objectives.
For each of the two objectives, identify and describe two assessment strategies for determining if the students learned what the objective stated they should have learned. Remember, for this activity the learning objective should be assessed by a summative strategy and the performance objective should be accessed by a formative strategy. In addition, specify what guidelines you would use to assess the students in the online learning environment. - Step 4: Justify each assessment strategy.
For each assessment strategy in Step 3, write a brief paragraph that describes your justification for aligning the assessment to the objective. Within this summary, address what you would do to ensure validity in the assessments. Use a minimum of three scholarly sources, one of which may be your textbook. Be sure to cite your sources using proper APA formatting. - Step 5: Create a rubric.
Based on Step 2, create a rubric that would be used to evaluate the learning outcomes. If you need some guidance on creating a rubric check out the following website: http://www.tltgroup.org/resources/Rubrics.htm
