Due to a shortage of registered nurses, in combination with increased workload, has the potential to impact quality of care. Nursing workload is increasingly thought to contribute to both nurses' quality of working life and quality/safety of care. Consequently, inadequate nurse staffing has been reported to lead nurses to omit required nursing care.
