Initial Discussion Post:

Sensory impairment may affect an individual’s ability to meet their higher level needs on Maslow’s hierarchy.

Provide an example of a challenge an individual with visual or hearing disturbances might have meeting their needs at each of the three higher levels:  Love and belonging needs, Self-esteem needs, and Self-actualization needs.

List and discuss at least one (1) nursing intervention the RN would use to assist sensory impaired individuals in meeting and achieving their challenge and/or needs at each of the three higher levels: Love and belonging needs, Self-esteem needs, and Self-actualization needs.
