Individual: Current Security Event Research Assignment

Select a company that has been in the news in the past two years that has had a significant security breach.

Develop a 2- to 3-page paper, or a 10- to 12-slide PowerPoint^® presentation with speaker notes along with a 1-page executive summary. Cover the following:

• Identify the event and the issues surrounding the security breach
• Explain how it impacted the organization, and describe, in detail, what the organization did to address the breach
• How was this event tied to network security? Provide details about network infrastructure if possible.
• What was the impact on customers? What was the impact on staff? Did this event have an impact on the company's overall business?
• Provide recommendations on what measures the company could have done to prevent the occurrence. If available, list what changes the company implemented to prevent this from happening again.

Learning Team: Final Project, with Inclusion of Security Assessment

Complete the final section of the network architecture plan by developing 1- to 1.5-page threat analysis, including:

• Strategies for deterring network attacks
• How to use tools to evaluate security mechanisms for dealing with internal and external threats

Consolidate all sections of the paper into a final submission, including a persuasive conclusion that convinces the company executives that the network design is feasible and necessary. The final paper must be 6 to 8 pages and formatted consistent with APA guidelines.

Create a 6- to 8-slide Microsoft^® PowerPoint^® presentation that describes the evaluation and recommendations for the network infrastructure, outlining the benefits to company personnel. Includedetailed speaker notes in the presentation.
