Personal Narrative (4-6 minutes) POWERPOINT REQUIRED

1. Obtain at least one electronic image that represents some aspect of your story.

2. You must introduce a value you hold dearly through a personal narrative or story. Examples include stories about honesty, patience, perseverance, forgiveness, etc.

Ascribe to one experience in life you’ve had that sums up your adherence to the particular value.  For example, your audience should be able to predict the way you may act in the future based on the story you’ve told.

3.  Organize your speech into three mainpoints ONLY.

4. Be sure to have your topic approved.  Unapproved topics will result in a loss of 5 points on the final submission.

5. For help with PowerPoint, refer to the PowerPoint tutorial in your textbook. Your

PowerPoint presentation should contain 1-4 slides. For each slide you use must

have the title of the slide, along with text to emphasize the main points. One of the slides should have at least one image.

6. TYPE a speech outline, following traditional format (I., II.,-A. B. – 1. 2. – a. b.),

using complete sentences for every line.  Each section should go at least to

the third level of detail (1, 2, etc.).
