Mission statements are enduring statements of purpose that distinguish one business from other similar firms. (David, 2014). A clear mission statement describes the values and priorities of an organization. ( David, 2014). It is a constant reminder to its employees of why the organizations exists and what the founders envisioned.(David, 2014)  The mission statement of the Nordstrom Inc. is all about the customers and supporting the employees who deliver exceptional service to those customers. (Nordstorm, 2012). Although it is formally referred to as a goal, Nordstrom’s mission is to offer outstanding service every day, one customer at a time.
