Role of Stakeholders in Evaluation
The role of stakeholders is vital to program evaluation. Without stakeholder input it is impossible to have an adequate understanding of the evaluated program. Identification of relevant stakeholders and the gathering of stakeholder input is a key part of the evaluation process.
Consider any program evaluation project and list four or five major stakeholder categories for the project. Assess the stakeholders' potential for both positive and negative impact on the evaluation process. How would you go about determining the validity or value of the inputs by each stakeholder category? Do you think the inputs of the stakeholder can contribute to the evaluation?
