Drawing on Chapter 18, “Legitmated Suppression: Inner-city Mexican Americans and the Police,” and Chapter 21, “The Saints and the Roughnecks,” define the criminal justice/sociological theory of “Labeling,” and discuss some of the consequences of “Labeling” for young people today.
