"Secrets of Sugar" assignment:

Instead of answering questions about the documentary, students will write a one-paragraph summary of the video's content, followed by one free response paragraph. In your response, discuss your thoughts on the new information you have learned in the film. Begin by taking thorough notes on the film. You will turn in these notes and paragraphs as part of the PrePac for MWA5.

1. Watch the 22 minute video. 
2. Take notes on the content. 
2. Write a 200 word (min.) summary of what you watch. 
3. In particular, discuss his views on personal freedom and personal responsibility as they relate to sugar and dietary choices. Why does he believe that the personal responsibility arguments do not work?
4. Write a one-paragraph response to the video. What did you learn, how do you feel about it, and will you change the way you think about the issue? Why/why not?

Points: You can earn up to five bonus points (one-half letter grade) on MWA5 for this assignment. MLA format your document.  If you turn in a document that has not been proofread or formatted properly, you will not receive any extra credit at all. 

Submission: (Two Items) You should print and turn in this assignment to me along with the notes you took on the video when you come to your final exam meeting session. The PrePac for MWA5 will be turned in that day, but this is a separate assignment, so do not lump them all together when you come.
