Marketing
As you read in Chapter 1, a person can be marketed. Each student is, in effect, a “product.” As with all products, you must be marketed for success. In this assignment, think of yourself as the "brand" to be marketed.
- Write your personal career “mission statement:” what makes you unique, what is important to you, and what do you want to do. Make it clear, concise and memorable.
- Write your SWOT analysis that identifies your "strengths" and "weaknesses" (reflecting on your skills, talents, abilities), and trends in the external environment that could be "opportunities" and "threats" to fulfilling your personal career mission.
- Write your "goals" -- specific things that you want to accomplish within the next 3-5 years that will increase your "strengths" and/or eliminate a "weakness" -- so that you will be better able to take advantage of "opportunities" and ward off "threats."
Your assignment should be 3-4 page(s) in length.
One to two peer-reviewed journal articles are required. Reference all sources using APA format. For guidance using APA format, please contact your instructor.
