Manging operation

Assignment:  The group will do a comparative analysis of two companies that will consist of the following:

A.  Understand the history and current financial status of the companies.  Compare and contrast the two.

B.  Understand and compare the current strategies of the companies.

C.  Study current company operations by visiting and assessing locations, dealerships etc.  Study their products.

D.  Compare and contrast their marketing strategies-look at their internet, social media etc. presence and actions

E.  Analyze their operations and assess whether they are successfully executing their strategies and plan.  This will be a walk thru and observation of stores, auto dealers etc. 

F.  Give recommendations on how they can improve. 

Oral Presentation-Deliverable

A.  Oral presentation will be done via PowerPoint slides and will last 20 minutes.

B.  Presentation will have following Slides

A.  Introduction with student group names, names of companies, date, class

B.  Company History chart

C.  Financial chart-5 year data on sales, profit margins, if possible market share

D.  SWOT chart

E.  Comparison of operations charts- we will talk on this

F.  Recommendations chart

C.  Written memorandum

A.  Written memorandum will summarize the charts paying special attention to recommendation.  It is to be in memorandum style and will be a maximum of two pages.

D.  Copy of the memorandum and PowerPoint slides will be given to me the night of the presentations.  Failure to have the written copies available that night will cost points on   the papers.
