Managing Diverse Human Resources

Write an essay of 150 words answering the following questions

Questions:

1. What do you think will change most dramatically in the future in terms of what it will 

take to attract young people to companies? 

2. Think about the best and worst bosses you’ve ever had. To what extent did human 

resource management skills differentiate the two? In particular, which skills? 

3. As you look forward to a future management position, what HRM strengths and 

weaknesses do you feel you have? 

4. If you look at your university, what HR activities does it perform well? What are 

needed improvements? 

5. What do you think will be the most challenging HR activities in the future? 

Students always surprise me with their creativity when offered an open ended 

question such as this. I try to let them roam as widely as possible, only reining 

them in to the extent that they link their answers to the HR function.
