Journal #4 – Unions (Chapter 11)

A labor union is an organization of workers who act together to negotiate wages and working conditions with their employers.

Questions:

1) What are the major reasons for joining and being a part of a labor union?

2) Under what conditions would you like to be a union member?

3) What do you think is the fate of unions in the United States in the next 10 years? (e.g. grow, decline, change, etc).Why?

In this and other journals and papers: Incorporate additional research in your responses, demonstrating that you did some investigating that relates to the journal topic, and/or supports your answers.
