Review a few SWOT templates and examples in your own time (Google it!) 3. Complete your write-up and submit using the Dropbox on D2L. Write-Up 1. Provide a detailed description of the company or organization you have selected (1-2 pages). Include any information that could be relevant to your SWOT Analysis. This may include information about the organization’s industry, current market issues or trends, management/governance structure, employee base, geographic location, political issues, local concerns, historical success/failures, etc. If you think it would be relevant for the SWOT analysis, include it. You are better off including too much information rather than too little. If you do not know these things, either do some research or make it up – this is a practice exercise. 2. Provide an explanation for how the SWOT will be useful to your organization. Answer the following questions: (1) Why do you think a SWOT analysis is important for your organization? (2) How will it inform future planning and communications decisionmaking? 3. Include your SWOT, providing as much description as you feel is necessary for each of the relevant components. Tips for Success/Thinking Points Remember, you are most interested in the communications activities of these organizations.
