Literature Review

Literature Review Assignment (15% of grade) Each student should conduct a thorough literature review on a topic of his or her choosing and produce a well-written review of the literature that will be incorporated into a final research proposal in the second course in this sequence. This systematic process should include finding a researchable problem, formulating a research hypothesis, conducting a literature search on the chosen topic using electronic databases, reading and evaluating the collected materials, and synthesizing sources into a literature review in APA style and formatting (including a title and reference page). The literature review paper allows the students to demonstrate their ability to search and critically evaluate the literature as well as summarize that literature in thoughtful, thorough, well-written prose.
