Having children can be very stressful at one time or another for the majority of parents. However, parents of children with genetic disorders experience differing levels and greater moments of stress when compared to other parents. In this discussion we will explore this stress.

• What was a particularly stressful time for you as a parent? If you do not have children reflect upon an unhappy child and their caregiver during a long airline flight or perhaps a busy restaurant. Could this stressful situation have been avoided or reduced?
