Lesson Plan  Project 1    Guidelines

Lesson Plan Project l.  In this project you must select a topic that will work for a project based lesson plan that can be used also in the Webquest Assignment -- building a Webquest.    The lesson to be developed should be based on selected K-12 Sunshine State Standards and lend itself to a process in which the students will have an outcome of a project.  Something that they can either create, summarize, evaluate or synthesis. The lesson plan must be focused on one grade level that addresses a minimum of one Sunshine State Standard and at least one National Educational Technology Standard. The lesson plan must integrate the usage of educational technology for instruction and must provide a written evaluation/critique of the selected technology software and/or web-based resources utilized for the lesson. The lesson must address one of the educational research theorists. Explain how the lesson adheres to one of the research theories of learning. Include in the lesson plan adaptations and differentiated instruction for ESE students and adaptations of culturally and linguistically diverse students.

You must write a good lesson plan for a project based lesson that can be used for the Webquest assignment.  You can check out some webquests at QuestGarden.com to see how this project based lesson works…

The lesson plan must be focused on one grade level that addresses a minimum of one Sunshine State Standard and at least one technology standard. (Please write out the standards your lesson plan covers-- DON’T just list the number)  The lesson plan must integrate the usage of educational technology for instruction and must provide a written evaluation/critique of the selected technology software and/or web-based resources utilized for the lesson. (See resources in Chapter 7 for this)  The lesson must address one of the educational research theories. Explain how the lesson adheres to one of the research theories of learning. (Learning Theories can be found in the text book on pages 34) Include in the lesson plan adaptations and differentiated instruction for ESE students and adaptations of culturally and linguistically diverse students.

This project should be typed in Times New Roman 12 Pt and the written evaluation/ critique should be double spaced.  You can use the Outline  that I have posted in the portal folder week 1 and week 2 as an example of what you need to include in a lesson plan.  Research on line what is included in a good lesson plan; I have a few articles and links posted on the portal.  Be sure to read the section in the book about the educational research theorists and base your lesson plan on one of their theories of learning.  Doing a project it will most likely be  constructivism.

Be sure to have measurable learning objectives (bench marks) for your lesson and explain how you will measure these objectives.  (What assessment will you use?)  You should have a rubric that you created for this lesson as well.  Be specific in your descriptions of how you will teach the lesson, what materials you will use and how you will present this lesson to the children. Attach all necessary documents that will be included in the lesson.   Also be sure to state how long this lesson will be; will it be two class lesson periods, one class lesson period or over a series of classes.  Any teacher should be able to pick up this lesson and teach it.

I have posted the rubric for how this project will be graded in the file in Week 3 . Remember this is college work; academic writing is expected.

Be sure to submit this lesson plan by 11:59 PM of the week it is due.

Thank you
