Leading causes of death

Examples of some of the leading causes of death in the U.S. include cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and suicide. Individual behavior, in addition to genetic or environmental factors, may increase risk factors for various groups in the population. Select one of these leading causes of death and discuss your thoughts on the following:

1.     How greater emphasis on public safety might reduce the risk for various groups of the population, 

2.     Ideas on how to increase public awareness about ways to help reduce risks, and 

3.     The role of public health policies in supporting community health.
