leadership of organization
Step One: Write you personal vision for your career -
1. A great way to approach the creation of a Personal Vision is to explore and reflect on the following questions:
(Write down your thoughts as you read through the questions.)
When I am most energized and focused, what am I working on?
What do I like so much that I would do it for free?
When I daydream, where does my heart go?
What do I feel compelled to pursue?
What do I really care about? What sparks my interest?
2. Write and upload a personal vision statement. Don't just tell us you want to be an exec, or be a CEO. Get realistic and truthful. What do you see yourself doing or wanting to do in the future.
Step Two: Develop a Vision Retreat
1. Prepare the scenario:
- Develop a company or department/Division. Feel free to use your current work situation and even make it real. If current, state the current vision and all supporting materials leading to it or explaining it.
- Explain the situation: industry, local environment of the org., strengths and weaknesses (and competencies) of the org., competitors competencies, future needs, etc.
- Explain who would be at the retreat and why.
- Explain all preparation for the retreat including physical site.
- Show the agenda and time frame.
- Develop what you think might be the resulting vision with supporting explanation.
