Technology and science have been increasingly applied to police work over the past fifty years. During that time, we have seen dramatic changes in the technology available. Discuss the following:

• How have technologies, such as radio communications and fingerprint technology, impacted policing over time?
• What strategic and/or tactical information that is helpful to law enforcement can be obtained from these technologies (radio communications and fingerprint technology)?
• Most technology can be seen to impact the professional policing model in a positive way. How can technology be used to enhance the community-based policing model?
