 First, I would like to give you a brief background on what the term Shojo means as it has been used in Japanese cultural presentation called Takarazuka. A quick description means Japanese women who are between the stages of puberty and marriage. So think, young women in high school, young women in college, and even post-women college.
The majority of people think that the main demographic of Takarazuka fans are infact shojo but actually there are a significant amount of married women who enjoy equally the theatrical performances and there are even lesser amount of male Takarazuka fans with inclusion of many mixed gender of non-white audience (Kidd, 2014).
