Budget Cuts Analysis
Over the last ten years, schools have had to make significant budget cuts. Teachers feel the brunt of educational budget cuts in many ways. In a profession during economically stable periods, about 20% of teachers leave the profession in the first three years, budget cuts mean less incentive for educators to continue teaching (Spring, 2011). As a result, schools are forced to cut corners and stretch dollars to accommodate student and teacher needs.

- Analyze the impact budget cuts have had on education and justify your reasoning.
- Describe the types of policies that can be put in place to protect impacted areas and justify your reasoning.
- Examine what political conflicts are triggered as a result of budget cuts and justify your reasoning.
