List five academic references related to the topic approved for your research paper and provide a 3 to 5 sentence summary of the article and how you intend to use each reference.  The summary must be in your own words and references must be formatted in accordance with the University's Writing Style Handbook, accessible through the Center for Writing Excellence.

You may use more than five references for your research paper, but only five should be listed for this assignment.  Remember, all references must be of an academic nature.  Sources such as Wikipedia, blogs, and answer.com are not academic references and cannot be used. 

I encourage you to use the University's library and sources such as the National Criminal Justice Reference Service as they contain academic material.  An example of how your response should be formatted is provided below.
