As of January 1^st of this year, several states raised the minimum wages within those states.  Read the three brief attached articles (below) and based on the textbook and whatever other information you may know regarding the minimum wage, present your position on the federal minimum wage ($7.25): should it be eliminated, increased (if so, by how much) or should it remain the same, and explain why you believe so. Don't forget to reply to at least one of the other postings.  Your initial posting is due by EOD Thursday, May 26th, and your reply postings are due by EOD Sunday, May29th.  Click on the "Minimum Wage" header to get started.

International trade has always been an emotional issue.  As the text states, there are winners and losers.  In the news, we seem to hear about the losers.  We all want to “buy American” to create more jobs here in the U.S.  But, it is true that international trade has greatly contributed to economic growth (think of all our export industries).  Take a look at the three attached documents.  They are very short pieces.  Post your opinion(s) on trade restrictions.  If this class is like others, there will be opinions on both sides.  As with many economic issues there are good arguments on both sides of the trade issue.  Your initial posting is due by EOD Thursday, May 26th, (no reply posting is required for this Discussion Board).  To begin, click on the Internation Trade header.
