A hard copy is due to the instructor on Monday, July 25, 2016. Submission of the paper by email is not acceptable unless authorized by the instructor. Within this academic writing assignment, you will discuss your intern experience in terms of personal achievement, expectations and networking and how your academic preparation and academic skills were applicable to the overall job process. A supplemental information sheet concerning the paper will be provided to the student. The term paper must be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11") with 1" margins on all sides. The title page must include the student’s name and course title and a minimum of 5-6 pages are expected for this assignment. Evaluation of the paper will be based upon content, structure, thought organization, as well as academic level of writing; hence this is your undergraduate writing competency assessment. Writing tip: Since this assignment centers on your personal experience, you may use the first person personal pronoun as well as the third person. Writing in second person is discouraged in collegiate work. Refer to the “Writing Tips” handout posted on Blackboard. NOTE: In the real work environment, employees are expected to complete assignments on time; therefore, your paper is expected to be turned in on time as well. All papers will receive one grade reduction for each day the assignment is late. For example, if a paper that would have earned an “A” is due on a Monday, but is not turned in until Tuesday, it is considered late and will receive a “B”. No writing assignment will be accepted or credit given if more than four (4) days late except in the most extraordinary circumstances cleared by the instructor.
