Journal #2—Genre and Audience (400 words minimum)
After reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_writing_genres, please choose one of the first three held-in-common readings and explain it in terms of a genre. While doing so, defining what genre the reading best represents, explain how the reading’s narrative view point or points (first, second, and/or third person narration) and its contents help make that genre successful. If you claim, the reading is a mixture of two genres, then point to your evidence for that claim, which may be found in narration, content, tone, word choice, etc. [Approximately 150 of the 300 words.]
Next, after reading https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/625/05/, analyze the intended audience for the same article, that you used for the first part of this question, by describing the reading’s intended audience in terms of demographic characteristics (age, ethnicity, gender, educational-level, income-level, etc.) and second by referring to specific content information—that may be found in the form of words or images—that represent evidence that, that reading’s audience is being addressed. Use APA in-text citations and signal phrases appropriately. [Approximately 150 of the 300 words.]
