A routine I am against is floating nurses all over the hospital. This places them at greater risk for mistakes. Nurses have their own specialties and working on other floors can lead to mistakes if they are not strong enough to say no. Even though each state has their own regulatory requirements, nurses have the obligation to know their scope of practice dictated by their board of nursing
