It is imperative as nurses to be humble and recognize our limitations. These are great qualities to have and they will prevent you from making mistakes and placing the patient’s health at risk.  A routine I am against is floating nurses all over the hospital. This places them at greater risk for mistakes. Nurses have their own specialties and working on other floors can lead to mistakes if they are not strong enough to say no. Even though each state has their own regulatory requirements, nurses have the obligation to know their scope of practice dictated by their board of nursing
