Let's break it up this way so we have the  following:

1) 3 main purposes of literacy assessments and 2)  5 main assessment types: 

(So I need to have the 3 main purposes of literacy assessments and the 5 assessment types included in this 500-600 word response)

This session focuses on 

-selecting or developing appropriate literacy assessment tools to 

-monitor student progress and 

-analyze instructional effectiveness, 

including 

1-standardized assessments, 

2-rubrics, 

3-observations, 

4- surveys, and

5- anecdotal records.

(I'm thinking 1-5 should be included in the 5 main assessment types.  I'm not sure though and that is why I'm enlisting help.)
