Today, people marry for a variety of reasons, including family obligations, arranged marriages, the legal establishment of a nuclear family unit, the legal protection of children, or the public declaration of commitment. Discuss the following:

• Choose 1 wedding tradition or custom, and explain its origins. Use at least 2 outside sources to confirm the explanation of the origins.
• How has the media changed the perception and expectations of weddings?
  • Does this also affect the perception and expectation of marriages?
